Scott Hughes has marked his next chapter and taken on the role of general manager and licensee of LJ Hooker’s Coomera and Ormeau offices.
The two Gold Coast offices boast more than 40 staff across sales and property management and, along with Mr Hughes, are head up by co-directors Shane Colquhoun and Nicole Hintz.
Both welcomed Mr Hughes to the team, noting he comes at a critical juncture where demand in the market is strong.
“Scott brings to the role tremendous experience managing teams and enabling productivity across both sales and property management,” Mr Colquhoun said.
“The Gold Coast’s northern corridor will remain an in-demand market over the coming decade with the Brisbane Olympics and second M1 underpinning job creating opportunities through the area.”
Ms Hintz echoed a similar sentiment, noting Mr Hughes’ appointment will help ensure the team is capitalising on “unprecedented growth”.
“I’ve been working across the Coomera and Ormeau markets for 15 years and over the last 12 months we’ve never been busier in the area,” she said.
“Even as we enter the new interest rate cycle, I think we’ll see confidence in the markets and I think we’ll see investors come back in stronger numbers as a result of the undersupply of rental stock.”
Mr Hughes, who represents LJ Hooker’s top 15 per cent of salespeople in Australia, said he is eager to kick off his new role at the Gold Coast offices.
“These are both quality offices which is reflected in both the recruitment and growth the businesses have achieved,” he said.
“The sales and property management teams really are attuned to the lifestyle and employment opportunities that are on the doorstep of the areas.
“The northern part of the Gold Coast is still relatively affordable and that’s why we’ve seen so many people from Melbourne and Sydney relocate here in the wake of COVID-19. Blocks of land have been really hard to get.
“In addition to being comparatively affordable, within a 30-40 minute drive the area also has access to the employment hubs of Brisbane, Robina, Yatala and Logan, and the lifestyle activities of the Gold Coast’s beaches, Hinterland rainforests and boating of Moreton Bay.”
