Nerang and Hinterland property specialist Shane Colquhoun has received a top industry honour, being named the real estate sector’s Regional Principal of the Year. Mr Colquhoun, who has led the successful team at LJ Hooker Nerang since 2003, was awarded the title at eminent industry publication Real Estate Business’ 2017 Awards for Excellence last week. The award is restricted to real estate business owners outside metropolitan centres.
Mr Colquhoun won the prestigious national award in recognition of the digital marketing innovations, professional culture and record of premium results the agency posted across the year. The award comes as Mr Colquhoun and the 40-strong LJ Hooker Nerang team move to a contemporary, purpose-built facility in New Street to cater for continued growth.
Over the previous 12 months, LJ Hooker Nerang sold nearly $200 million worth of property across Nerang and surrounding suburbs, and grew its number of properties under management by 4.5%. In addition to his agency leadership, Mr Colquhoun is an influential leader in the network’s Gold Coast group of agencies. He is also Vice President of LJ Hooker Franchise Owners Council, providing specific advice on network marketing initiatives.
Accepting the award at Darling Harbour’s International Convention Centre, Mr Colquhoun paid credit to his entire team at LJ Hooker Nerang. “Every business owner has a vision, but without the support of the team, you never get to realise it,” said Mr Colquhoun. “I’m thankful to have had a long-standing team that relates to what I’ve always wanted to achieve. From the front reception to our dedicated Customer Service Department, sales and property management division, we have a commitment to offer our clients contemporary marketing.” According to the RP Data Benchmark Report for March 2017, LJ Hooker Nerang held approximately 16.4% market share between Nerang and Numinbah Valley, making it the corridor’s number one agency.
