LJ Hooker Nerang Takes Out National Honour

Cystic Fibrosis Awards 2017

LJ Hooker Nerang Principal Shane Colquhoun accepted Cystic Fibrosis Australia’s Corporate Partner Award at Sydney’s Admiralty House from Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove.

LJ Hooker Nerang was recognised for its extensive community fundraising activities throughout 2017, including the Great Strides Walk at Main Beach, 65 Roses Day Mount Warning Climb, Hunt for a Cure “Easter Egg Hunt” and numerous other social media marketing fundraising events. Overall, LJ Hooker Nerang raised over $10,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Australia over the past 12 months, adding to the $63,000 it has raised over previous 10 years.

Cystic fibrosis is the most common, life-shortening condition for children in Australia, today.

Mr Colquhoun said: “I’m thrilled for the team to receive this award as they lead our community fundraising and outreach activities.

“When you’re a business such as ours, you meet a broad cross section of the community, including those facing challenges. People living with cystic fibrosis face a challenge; activities that a healthy person takes for granted in their every lifestyle are often out of reach for those with the condition.

“What the LJ Hooker Nerang team has done over the last year won’t provide a cure for the condition, but I’m pleased our fundraising efforts and campaign awareness have made living with CF just that little bit easier for its community.”

Cystic Fibrosis Australia, alongside the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, is a major charity partner of the LJ Hooker Foundation. The LJ Hooker Foundation consolidates the fundraising activities of its network of offices throughout Australia to make significant contributions to the charity partners.
